We’re so excited to introduce you to some of our mentors in this new series of posts, starting with Nikki from the Empower Me Program Inc. Nikki’s been working in this space a long time and it’s been such a joy to get to know her better through our Youth Mentor Training. Enjoy learning a little more about her below:
Introductions:
I’m Nicole and I’m am a full time pre-school teacher and the founder of the Empower Me Program Inc
What’s your WHY behind working with young people?
I want to empower young children to be confident within their own skin and be the best version of themselves. I want them to know that there is a whole world out there for them to seek out and explore. My role as a youth mentor is to provide them with opportunities and strategies to feel capable and confident and to go out and make their dreams happen.
Tell us about your business:
Empower Me Program Inc is a Not For Profit organisation that provides opportunities for young children and adolescents to attend workshops and camps that educate and promote; self-esteem, body image, resilience and anti-bullying.
We run camps including Teen girl 13yrs-16yrs, Boy’s 10yrs-14yrs and Tween girls 9yrs-12yrs.
It’s ok to just be yourself. You are perfect just the way you are. Never change for anyone.
