Emma Gonzalez led the life of a typical 18-year-old American senior high school student.
But this very quickly changed as of February 2018. After surviving the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, Emma delivered a powerful 11 minute speech at an anti-gun rally which went viral and was one of the organizers of the March For Our Lives (source: AJC).

She has empowered peers to take action in uniting their generation…
Her speech emphasized that their school shooting was “not going to be another statistic about mass shooting in America, but because we are going to be the last mass shooting.” Emma has since been named one of the ’50 Badass’ women by InStyle managzine for being tough, outgoing and persistent.
We admire Emma’s confidence to stand up for what she believes in and for consistently promoting her message. She has inspired a worldwide cry for gun reform in America and has empowered peers to take action in uniting their generation to push for stricter regulations. We commend Emma for her strength and dedication to making the future a better place.
